You don't have to purchase and stock your own products in order to sell items on the internet. You can also become an affiliate marketer. This simply means you promote someone else's products and you earn commission for that. It works in a very easy way:
- you sign up to an affiliate program with some like Amazon
- you receive a username and password to log into the affiliate section of their website
- from there you have access to insert their products into your own website
- when someone clicks on those products in the Parenting website and subsequently buys something from Amazon, you earn a commission on the sale value
How does Amazon know that the sale came from your site? When you insert the products into your site, this is done by simply copy and pasting a little bit of code into your page. That code contains your personal affiliate ID, and therefore Amazon knows who sent any particular customer to their site because of that ID number.
