Overview
Sometimes you'll want to add a PDF or a Word document for your website visitors to see or print. This shows you how to add a document to your website and how to create a link to it. Please note that this is not a standard feature of Joomla, so you may not have this in your website already.
Please make sure that the filename of your document contains only characters and letters and nothing else, or this will not work correctly eg use something like:
instruction-manual.pdf and not instruction manual.pdf with a space.
Go to Components>eXtplorer:

Be VERY CAREFUL in the following page, because if you accidentally delete something your website may no longer function.

Please refer to the above illustration for the following instructions:
1. In the left navigation, go to the folder where you would like to put your new document. In the above page we already have a folder called 'docs'.
2. Click the blue up arrow and you will see the following upload box. Click 1 to find your document, and then 2 to save the document to the server.
Now that your document is on the server, all we need to do is create a link to it. First of all you need to

Now that your document is on the server, all we need to do is create a link to it. First of all you need to create the URL to the document, and the format for this is:
http://www.yourwebsitename.com/foldername/documentname
Using the example above, this would be:
http://www.doctomkiosk.com/docs/instructions.pdf
You can see that I've swapped the 'foldername' for the folder we used, which was 'docs' and I've included the document which was a PDF. If this was a Word document then the URL would be
http://www.doctomkiosk.com/docs/instructions.doc
Go to Menu>mainmenu and click the NEW button at the top right. At the New Menu Item page, select 'Link
– Url' as below and then click NEXT at the top right:

Fill in the name of the menu item and the URL as below, and click SAVE. Your document is now visible in a new menu item called 'Care Labels'.
