How do I add a new menu item?

Step 1: create a new article

Click Content>Article Manager

Click 'New' at the top right and then fill in the form as follows:

  1. Add a title
  2. Set 'Published' to 'Yes' otherwise it will be hidden
  3. Categorise your new page by choosing a Section and a Category
  4. Enter some text in the large WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor
  5. Use the toolbar for formatting your text, inserting links etc. Just put your cursor over the icons to see what they are for. You'll see a description appear as soon as your cursor is placed over the top of the icon.
  6. When you have finished creating your page, click 'Save' at the top right

Step 2: create a new menu item

You now have a new page but it cannot be seen in your website yet. First you need to create a link to it, or rather a 'menu item'. Go to Menus>Main Menu

Click 'New' at the top right and then choose Article>Article Layout

Then fill in the form by giving the new menu a title, and choosing which article will be displayed when it is clicked (see the parameters - basic tab and click the Select button, as shown below).

When you've finished creating your new menu item, click 'Save' at the top right. You will now see your new menu item in your website, and when you click on it it will display your new page.

Your were patient with me when I needed to take a break from the website project, and your professionalism, and honest feedback throughout the process was much appreciated. The day you sent me this mail, I typed 'Doula Amsterdam' into Google and my site came up number 2. I’m impressed!” …
