Joomla has its own inbuilt advertising banners, all ready to use. To create an advertising banner follow these steps:

1. Go to Components>Banner>Categories and set up some categories eg Left Banners, Right Banners, Footer Banners
2. Go to Components>Banner>Clients and set up some clients eg IBM, Hewlett Packard, etc
3. Prepare some banner images for each client, or have your clients provide you with these. Upload the images to the images/banners folder ready for the next step.
4. Go to Components>Banner>Banners and click 'New' and fill in the settings as follows (with your own banner name). Make sure that you give the item a unique order number, and make sure to set the Sticky value to Yes. Choose the banner image you just uploaded in the previous step and click 'Save'.
   
   
5. Now go to Extensions>Module Manager and click 'New'
6. Choose type 'Banner' and click 'Next'
7. Fill in the form as follows, making sure to set the category that you'd like to display, and set Randomise to 'Sticky, Randomize'
   
8. Choose a position where you'd like the banner to appear, eg Footer position
9. Click Save.

What should you expect to see? You should expect to see all published banners in the category that you selected in step 7 above. They will display in a random order, displaying each of the banners in that category. Please make sure the settings are the same as above.

**Please note that the images you use for banners should be ALL lowercase and contain no spaces. They should be alphanumeric ONLY, with the exception of hyphens and underscores. Your image will not display otherwise.
