First you need to add your photo to your website, by going to Site>Media Manager

Click on the folders until you get to the 'photo' folder in step 1 below. You can create a new folder to put your photo into, or choose an existing folder. To create a new folder, simply type the new folder name in item 2 and click 'Create folder'.

Be sure that the folder you want your photo to go in is selected in the left. Then click the 'Browse files' button at the bottom and choose the photo you want to add, and click on OK. You will then see the location of the photo added at the bottom of the page, so click 'Start Upload' to add the photo to your website.

You will see a preview of the photo once it is added. Now that you've added your photo to your website, you can use it in any of your pages.

1. Go to Components>VirtueMart and open the item where you'd like to add a photo, eg Products>List Products and then click on an existing item to edit that product page
   
2. In the Description area, put your cursor where you want your photo to appear. In the example below the cursor is right at the top of the description box, just in front of 'Type some text'.
3. Click on the 'insert image' icon

The following box will then appear

Click on the folder names in the 'Folders' pane (item 1 above), until you find the folder where your photo is. You will then see the photos in the folder in the middle pane (item 2 above). Click the photo you want to add, in the middle pane. As soon as you click the photo, a preview will appear in the right pane (item 3 above). You will also see all the fields in item 4 automatically filled in.

If you want your photo to appear on the left and any text on the page appear to the right of the photo, the 'align' setting should be Left (item 4 in image above). As soon as you have finished, click on the 'Update' button and then click on Save at the top right of the page.

The photo has now been added to the page. If you wish to add more photos, simply repeat the steps above. Use the spacing and align properties to change the way more photos look when sitting next to each other.
